Overeem have pushed the boundaries of whisky making with this expression. It’s an exceptional marriage of Overeem sherry cask whisky with pure Antarctic ‘ice melt’ water. It’s a truly unique release in collaboration with Polar explorer Geoff Wilson.
5306 KILOMETRES OVER 58 DAYS
In December 2019, Australian explorer Geoff Wilson broke the record for the longest unsupported polar journey in human history, covering 5306 kilometres of Antarctic icy terrain with nothing more than his own body, a wind kite and a sled full of food.
Geoff became the first person to ever summit the Antarctic plateau unassisted. The summit, known as the Dome Argus, sits 4000m above sea level, some 1200m higher than the south pole, and is the coldest naturally-occurring place on Planet Earth.
In honour of this accomplishment, Overeem Distillery has released the ‘Dome Argus’, a wonderfully delicious, balanced and viscous single malt whisky, worthy of such an achievement.
Official Tasting Note.
Nose: Peanut brittle, chocolate fudge, toffee, vanilla custard, prunes, pantry spice and toasted oak
Palate: A rich soft texture, with creamed caramel, bread & butter pudding, banana chips, toffee and dark chocolate
Finish: Hazelnut praline and creamy spice

Tasmanian Whisky pioneer Casey Overeem, founded Overeem Distillery in 2007 as the fourth distillery in Tasmania. His first distilling experience in Norway in the 1980s fuelled his passion, and following years of research and experimentation, his ambitious quest to create a whisky that ‘would proudly stand alongside the best whiskies in the world’ began.

Today, Jane Overeem and her husband Mark continue Casey’s legacy, following the practices and principles on which Overeem Distillery was founded. They continue to grow the brand’s popularity both nationally and internationally and remain true to Casey’s original ambition.
