Angels Envy Whiskey
Rooted in 200 years of bourbon heritage, Angels Envy create hand-finished spirits that aren’t afraid to improve on the classic tradition. Inspired by legendary Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson’s lifetime spent crafting fine spirits, the 5% of spirit lost each year during barrel aging is called the “Angel’s Share.” After tasting their finished whiskey, Lincoln joked that they’d finally gotten a better deal than the angels. And so, Angel’s Envy was born.
On July 9th in 2013, three generations of Hendersons came together to break ground on a new distillery at 500 E. Main St. Louisville, Kentucky. It was one of Lincoln’s final events with Angel’s Envy prior to his passing in September 2013. The distillery comments,
“we’re proud that he was able to help usher in the next chapter of the brand. It meant a great deal to Lincoln, seeing his life’s work culminate in such a significant endeavor. Much earlier in his life, Lincoln’s father had worked in the same building, then called The Vermont American Building, and Lincoln had spent time there with him as a child. Now, it was his turn to create a new family tradition alongside his own son and grandson within the same walls where he’d walked as a boy with his father”
Angel’s Envy has gone on to make a real name for themselves as a highly sort after Kentucky whiskey, pushing the boundaries of bourbon creation resulting in a massive following worldwide.
