Eagle Rare Bourbon Whiskey
Eagle Rare is a hugely successful brand of bourbon whiskey distilled and distributed by the Buffalo Trace Distillery as part of their ‘Antique Collection’ in Frankfort, Kentucky USA. It was originally a 101-proof ten-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey (not single-barrel) owned by Seagram and created by master distiller Charles L. Beam. Introduced in 1975, Eagle Rare was among the last new bourbon brands introduced prior to the current era of ‘small-batch bourbons’.
The Sazerac Company, based in New Orleans-Louisiana, acquired Eagle Rare from Seagram in March 1989 when the distillery was called the George T. Stagg Distillery. Today the distillery is known as the Buffalo Trace Distillery. Eagle Rare Bourbon/Whiskey is flawlessly crafted and carefully aged for no less than ten years. Every barrel is meticulously selected to deliver consistent flavour but with a seemingly individual identity. Eagle Rare bourbon is released in very limited quantities and is highly sort after by bourbon enthusiasts world-wide.
