The distillery is located in the heart of the Russian-River-Valley wine region that stretches from San Francisco to Humbolt Bay and on to the Oregon border. The distillery was carved out of the buildings originally housing an apple canning and processing plant. With the famous John Muir as their spiritual guide, protecting the environment has become their mantra dialling up sustainability into everything they do. The still allows the team to distil in a single pass, preserving both water and energy. Local farmers use the nutrient rich mash as feed for their livestock and their state-of-the-art water reclamation facility assures only pure water re-enters the water table. With a keen eye on sustainability, for every bottle sold, Redwood Empire plants a tree – and they’re now up to 1,415,048 bottles sold and trees planted (and rising in real time).
