The Baker Williams Distillery is a Micro Distillery located at 194 Henry Lawson Drive in Mudgee NSW. Opened in September 2012, the distillery is part of the ever-growing Australian Craft Distillery industry with an expanding range of flavoursome spirits and liqueurs focusing on regional flavours & influences.
Owned by Helen Baker and distiller, Nathan Williams, the distillery has recently released their very first single malt whisky in March 2018 and named it after their first born – Lachlan. The inaugural bottlings of Lachlan single malt whisky were matured in a 100-litre port cask and bottled in both a 66.8%alc cask strength and 50%alc standard strength.
Helen and Nathan go on to explain:
“There were a number of parallels in bringing to life our first whisky and bringing little Lachlan into the world. You make significant investments, encounter plenty of nervous energy, face some unexpected challenges all mixed with a good dash of luck along the way. It’s taken an enormous amount of love, passion and dedication to creating our first whisky, from the grain bill and mash, through distillation, maturation and barrelling”.
We’re really looking forward to being part of the Bakery Hill whisky journey and wish them the best of luck in producing incredible whisky that is enjoyed by enthusiasts both locally and abroad.
