Clyde Mill distillery is run by the Ramsay family, long-time Bothwell farmers, who purchased and revitalised the ex-Nant Estate in Tasmania, reclaiming it as Clyde Mill for its grazing benefits. They’ve also turned their hand to spirits and with a clear vision to blend their paddock-to-glass ethos with the region’s rich past. The Ramsay’s have harvested some of the whisky that was produced at Bothwell between 2019 and 2021, bottling it under their Clyde Mill label, while laying down their own whisky for future releases.
More than just a distillery, Clyde Mill is a labour of love, restoring a piece of Bothwell’s history, offering a community gathering spot, and creating an authentic farm-and-heritage-driven spirit experience. A fair cry from the property’s dark past and a welcome addition to the Australian whisky community.
