Tasmanian Independent Bottlers Pty Ltd was established in 2015 as Independent Bottlers of Australian and New Zealand spirits and is located at 49 Tasma Street North Hobart. Like the Heartwood brand, TIB is owned and operated by whisky connoisseur Tim Duckett. TIB have based their production model on Heartwood Malt Whisky with the aim to produce whiskies that may have a greater range of appeal but at a subtler 48-50 percent alcohol as opposed to the dynamite-high mid 60 percent alcohol content of their Heartwood lines.

Whiskies that Tim procures are laid to rest in 100 litre Australian quarter casks and are sourced from several Australian and one New Zealand distillery. The new make is purchased and selected based on its texture and flavour profile then matched to a specific barrel type. TIB have currently selected seven barrel-types for maturation of the spirit: Bourbon, Port, Muscat, Sherry, Botrytis, Virgin Oak and Re-educated 2nd fills.
They also have some special barrels of oat and rye whiskies.

The whisky is matured in their own bond store in Hobart and is carefully monitored by the dark angel until it’s deemed ready to bottle.
