Transportation whiskey is the culmination of John Halton’s odyssey, a tribute to his ancestors from Ireland, some of whom received transportation during the mid-1800s, before settling in Cygnet, Tasmania. On one of his trips over to Ireland, John was at the Midleton Distillery, home of some of the worlds most revered single pot still whiskeys when a light bulb moment changed the course of his journey. He wondered why no one was making triple distilled, single pot still whiskey in Australia and went about changing that anomaly in good time.

After cutting his teeth in the Tasmanian whisky Industry, John started working on his dream of creating this Irish water of life, Tasmania’s versions of this iconic Irish style of whiskey and now it’s here, in all its Irish glory in very limited numbers.
