The Tria Prima Distillery represents the three elements of Alchemy: Barley, water and wood.
Tria Prima is a small family-owned, boutique, nano-distillery run by Paul and Trang Shand located at 31 Oborn Road, Mount Barker in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, approximately 4 km from Mount Barker Summit in South Australia. Whisky maker Paul was formerly a geochemist, and while exploring for gold in the Scottish Highlands, he also discovered liquid gold in the local bars and studied both during quiet evenings of scientific contemplation. Fast forward to today, and using the magical catalyst of yeast, and techniques handed down for generations, Tria Prima is now crafting whisky – the alchemists dream, while searching for the true spirit of perfection.

“No-one has yet achieved perfection of the spirit of life. Here, at Tria Prima we dedicate ourselves only to this end: we promise to aim for perfection. We don’t know what this looks like, but we are sure we will know it when is found – in the spirit and deep in the soul”
