Twenty Third Street Distillery is owned by VOK Beverages – a sister company of Bickford’s and is the new incarnation of a century-old landmark at Twenty Third Street, Renmark, in South Australia’s fertile Riverland. The distillery was built by Barossa firm Chateau Tanunda in 1914 and after 88 colourful years of mergers, takeovers and declined activity, the distillery ceased all production in 2002.

But the spirit lingered…. and a new team entered in 2016, fuelled by fresh creative passion, Riverland heart and a taste for the future, they reignited the century-old distillery with 21st century technology. Century-old copper stills with a capacity of 7500 litres each were brought back from cobwebbed disuse and reborn with a spirit of anarchic invention producing whisky, gin and vodka.

The distilleries first single malt whisky release in 2019 has been met with positive reviews wining a Gold Medal in the Australian single malt category at the World Whisky Awards. Talk about setting the bar high. 😉 We’re definitely looking forward to what they come up with next!
