Hazelburn is an unpeated, triple-distilled single malt whisky produced at the Springbank distillery in Campbeltown having first been distilled in 1997. The malt is air dried only and the whisky is distilled three times in old copper stills to achieve a spirit that is light, fruity and subtle. Hazelburn is named after a former Campbeltown distillery from the past that ran from the early-18th century until 1925, but in its short lifetime grew to become the biggest in the area.
While the bulk of the distillery’s output is concentrated on producing the Springbank malt, 10% of its production time is dedicated to creating the unpeated, triple-distilled Hazelburn and a further 10% to the heavily peated Longrow malt.
