Eagle Rare is a very limited release and part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection which comes out in the USA usually once a year.
This 2014 expression was bottled from 26 hand selected barrels that saw a 54.9% loss to evaporation, totalling around 4,530 bottles released this year in total. An interesting fact is despite the label stating 17 years, this year’s release was actually aged for 19 years. Buffalo Trace doesn’t have to re-register a new label each year and instead uses the same label as long as the age increases and doesn’t decrease from the stated 17 Years.
If you’re a fan of quality bourbon whiskey, this is one release that’s rarely seen in Australia and would look great in any collection or belly.

Tasting notes: from the Buffalo Trace Distillery
The fragrant aroma has almost a wine-like character with hints of almond, cigar boxes and cinnamon. The delicate and dry mid-palate tastes of leather, vanilla and tobacco. This bourbon lingers, finishing with hint of leather and toffee.
