The George T Stagg 2009 is a very limited release and part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection which comes out in the USA usually around October and is aged in new charred oak barrels for no less than 15 years. It is bottled straight from the barrel at barrel proof, uncut, unfiltered and aged approximately 16 years and 7 months. Only 109 barrels were hand selected for this year’s release!
Only small quantities of this expression are made available each year with a handful of bottles making it to Australian shores so be sure to add one to your collection or drinking stock today.
From the Buffalo Trace Distillery:
Lush toffee sweetness and dark chocolate with hints of vanilla, fudge, nougat and molasses. Underlying notes of dates, tobacco, dark berries, spearmint and a hint of coffee round out the palate.
