Making its debut in June of 2011, Jack Daniel’s released this 1907 Tennessee Whiskey exclusively in Australia as a trial. The expression pays tribute to the year Jasper Newton Daniel passed on the Distillery to his nephew, Lem Motlow in 1907.
Since this first edition ’Heritage’ shaped bottle was only a trial, most of them were purchased and consumed making these full, sealed bottles highly collectable in Jack Daniel’s circles. It wasn’t until the summer of 2013, some 2 years later that the distillery finally releasing the 2nd generation bottle which had slight modifications to the label and bottle shape.
The whisky is a lighter and slightly sweeter variant to the standard Black Label Old No.7 as it’s matured in the cooler areas of the Jack Daniels barrel house’s where the spirit doesn’t work its way as deeply into the American Oak barrel-wood. So, expect lots of sweet vanilla with honey notes and the distant wisp of charcoal smoke.
