Back in the late 1800’s, the Cumberland River in Tennessee was a major thoroughfare for Riverboats hauling passengers, tobacco and cotton with Nashville been a major port of call. Mr Jack Daniels who was well known for his astute business acumen would befriend the Captains of these Riverboats making sure their vessels were stocked with an abundant supply of Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey as he saw it as the perfect way to introduce travellers to his brand.

This 1.75L decanter comes with an incredibly detailed box and hang-tag and was released in 1987 to pay tribute to these grand old Riverboats and the fine captains who commanded them.
