Bottling Notes

Each year, Michter’s releases a 10-year-old single barrel bourbon in very limited quantities. Very few details about the spirit are available other than its fire-charred new American white oak barrels. The source of the distillate is unknown, as is it mash bill.

This is one of Michter’s limited production items. The “best American whiskey” according to Food & Wine magazine, this rare single barrel bourbon is distilled according to Michter’s tradition and quality standards dating back to the year 1753, over two decades before the Declaration of Independence was signed.

An interesting fact.
A private barrel of this whiskey sold for £166,000 (approx. $293,000AU) at an auction in London on Sunday, July the 12th 2020 shattering the previous $101,000AU record for a barrel of bourbon that was set at Christies auction.
