Michter’s Barrel Strength Rye enters charred oak barrels at 51.5% alc in Kentucky, USA, where the distillery believes this entry proof delivers a richer, smoother Kentucky Straight Rye profile than higher-strength fills. As a single barrel release, each cask is bottled at its natural strength at the time of selection. This 2025 release spans from 107.4 proof (53.7% alc) up to 115.2 proof (57.6% alc), depending on the individual barrel.

Many enthusiasts describe this rye whiskey as bourbon-like rye with rye spice underneath, rather than a sharply herbal rye.
