This multi-award-winning Sazerac 18yo was part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection bottled in 2018 in the USA and released in 2019 in Australia. Only 24 barrels were hand selected and bottled for this Summer 2018 release with a very small allocation making it to our Australian shores.
An interesting fact about the Sazerac 18yo is that Buffalo Trace have been using the same distillate to produce this expression since 2003, all originating from whisky that was vatted in 1985. The resulting Rye whisky was then relocated into stainless steel tanks to halt the ageing process by stopping the influence of wood maturation.

Very mature, with notes of oak, leather molasses and all-spice. The long, warm finish is preceded by notes of mint, eucalyptus, cinnamon, vanilla, and lingering pepper.”
