Producer’s tasting notes
Chocolate fudge, oak, fresh forest earthy tones and some peppery fire. Hints of vanilla and sweet honey. This whisky is long, fat & oily, like a thick meaty lamb stew on a winter’s day.

Bottling Notes
Now, here’s a whisky with quite the back-story that has ‘collector’s item’ written all over it.
The lads at the distillery describe it best……
“Introducing the ‘BRUM’ Casks.
Three years ago, Adam & Adam were offered & bought some French Oak Virgin 20L Casks. While pondering what to age in them a happy accident occurred. Adams distillery were given a gift of BRUM or RANDY, whichever works for you. It was an accidental mixing of equal parts Lark Rum and Lark Brandy. As this could not be sold, Adam & Adam, along with the helpful suggestions from Mr Duckett of Heartwood fame decided to season these two new casks for 6 to 12 months with the RANDY BRUM, then fill them with lightly peated whisky using peated barley from New Zealand.
The Adam’s have found the sweet spot at 53%, and what a sweet spot it is.
Virgin Oak, Seasoned with Lark Rum & Lark Brandy, New Zealand Peat and made by a Builder and a Paramedic very early on in their Distilling careers. Blessed by the Whisky Pope himself; this is a one-off miracle child of a Whisky”

It’s a one off…and maybe that’s just as well.
This is confused and really doesn’t know what it is. I’ve waited three weeks and tried to get to know it…but.
There’s chocolate fudge, not dark chocolate…but choc sauce that you put on ice cream. The chocolate coating of a coffee chocolate your aunty gave you at Christmas. Tastes like chocolate but isn’t. Tastes like whiskey, but isn’t. All fighting for dominance. I bought this because I’ve had a Balvenie Rum cask I really enjoyed. However it’s the rum that takes centre stage. I tested this one against a 21 year old Conniversere Cognac I had on standby…(you never know right)….and yep…it’s the brandy, that turns this one to the dark side, and overpowers all else. Shame….But as this is my first Adams I can see that the spirit is good…I’ll go for another one if they don’t have the Glass “cork”. Decorative, but not practical as it grates like nails on a chalkboard every time you open.Call me shallow, but there’s something ritualistic about opening the bottle and it’s a key moment in the experience. Scraping glass is not part of it. To sum up, if you like Kahlua you’ll like this. Unfortunately I don’t like Kahlua.
