Official tasting notes.
Beautiful deep amber colour, rich and luscious on the nose with notes of honey and raisins, cinnamon and Jaffas. To taste, milk chocolate and toffees, spiced pears, ginger, lime tart, caramel, tobacco, and leather. A wonderful demonstration of the rich complexity being achieved by this distillery.

Description:
This third expression in Amber Lane’s whisky portfolio is called No.1 Sherry Lane. It’s a single cask sherry whisky, bottled at 61.6% ABV and the distillery’s first general release ‘cask strength’ expression. As this comes from a single barrel, there is a limited supply of only 369 bottles. The distillery has been showcasing this whisky at recent events to rave reviews, so stocks will not last long for this beauty.
The Distillery comments;
“Our first journey exclusively down Sherry Lane, cask 023 is an ex-McWilliams 300L Apera (Australian Sherry) cask in 2019. Brought to you at full cask strength, non-chill filtered”.
About Amber Lane Distillery
The Amber Lane distillery is nestled within the lush hills of the Yarramalong Valley, on the central coast of NSW. Distillation is performed by their 3,600 litre Copper Still, designed to maximise copper-contact. They use the very best seasoned barrels including Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso Sherry casks sourced directly from the Bodegas in Spain as well as Kentucky bourbon barrels. The distillery uses larger barrels than many other Australian whisky producers (mainly 200-250L casks) which is super refreshing in our opinion, and employing 700ml bottles will only make the whisky more ‘palatable’ for the masses.
Amber Lane whisky is non-chill filtered and with a conscious preference for releasing their whisky at higher alcohol strength, we call it a Win! Win! It also helps that their whisky is damn delicious – Expect big things from this Aussie distillery who have ticked all the right boxes, straight out of the gate.
