We’ve all heard the whispers, and the lucky few got to sample it at the Sydney Whisky fair back in August and now it’s finally arrived on the mainland. Yes folks, from the progressive mind of Peter Bignell comes his latest creation: “Wholly Shit” – A rye whisky smoked with sheep’s manure.
In all his self-sustaining glory, Mr Bignell has taken the art of recycling and turned it up to a blistering 11, Spinal Tap style! 😊 His Belgrove sheep eat the spent distillery grain and then their dry dung is burned instead of peat to produce this smoky rye-malt of feculent proportions.
An abstract release that is destined to be highly collectable. Better yet, if you’re able to do so, savour it amongst friends – it’s one full bodied pour dripping in peanut-butter and maple honey with just the right amount of earth and spice. And of course, a SH!T LOAD of smoke. 😉
