With Batch no.1 selling out incredibly fast last year, here’s another ripper collaboration between the crew at That Boutique-y Whisky Company purchasing spirit from legends Brian and Genise Hollingworth, owners and distillers of Black Gate distillery, to create Batch number 2, an ex-sherry cask, independent bottling that’s both meaty and delicate.

“Black Gate was one of our very successful Australia Series whiskies, this is the second cask we bought. It’s from a ‘solera style’ vatting of casks, all of which were ex-port. A minimum age of three years, although much of the liquid is older. Bottled at 46.1% abv”

About the Label: That Boutique-y Whisky Company says it best.
“The distillery building is located next to their bungalow home. Kangaroos and emus are a common sight here, often getting onto the property and wandering around outside the distillery. Their small dachshund ‘Frankie’ an unofficial mascot of the distillery has been found herding wandering emus off the property. We’ve recreated Frankie’s night-time escapades on our label here.”

Keen eyes will note a small change to the batch 2 label – Brian’s motorbike can be seen parked out front now. 😉
