Bottling Notes
‘Laga Cat 63’ is the third release by the independent bottling arm of the Craft Works Distillery, owned and operated by Craig ‘Crafty’ Field. The name ‘Laga Cat 63’ pays homage to the Lagavulin (Laga) cask that Crafty sourced that still had a small amount of Muscat (Cat) in the cask. The ‘63’ is in reference to the cask strength bottling.
Crafty sourced his new-make (spirit) from an undisclosed Sydney distillery and matured it at his distillery in Capertee NSW, in a deep char, coopered, 100L American Oak, Lagavulin ex-muscat barrel. Only 100 bottles were produced of this lightly peated whisky that will surely be another sell-out at the distillery, just like Crafty’s 1st and 2nd releases were.
Available in limited quantities.
Also, keep your eye out for Laga Cat 63’s little brother that will be bottled at a lower ABV (approx. 53%) and released in early October 2019. 😉
