Bottling Notes
Here’s a whisky blend from the independent bottling arm of Craft Works distillery.
It’s a vatting of Adams Distillery & Craft Works Distillery and a beast of a whisky @ 65.7% abv. Crafty was giving 50ml samples of Vatman away when enthusiasts purchased a bottle of ‘Tokay Okay’ whisky and ‘Grumpy Old Man on a Hill’ whisky from his website.
He’s now made the whisky available in 500ml bottles in a very limited and collectable run that will sell out super-fast. Want to know more about Vatman from the distiller? – We’ll here it is, in Crafty’s own words:
“It’s a whisky that is very challenging and it’s taken me a while to work out how best to drink it.
Last night I opted for a tumbler and a splash of water and guess what its the bomb.
It’s Craft Works Distillery mash bill and I distilled it at Riverbourne Distillery as Martin Pye (owner of Riverbourne distillery) helped me and turned over his still while mine was being built at the time.
It’s cask CWD2 a heavy shaved, French Oak, 20 litre ex Riverbourne Distillery whisky/rum cask and at the time Marty & I played around and pipped cold smoke into the cask over 2.5 years ago.
The Adams Distillery cask was my founding member cask and matured 3 years at Adams Distillery in Tasmania”
How’s that for transparency! 😉
