This Baker’s Dozen offering pays homage to all the baker’s long past who were often fined and jailed for under-delivering bread to their customers as grain and flour were a protected commodity in feeding the masses. In times of poor harvest, whisky was often banned to ensure barley was used for food and not liquor. A malt driven whisky that gives you a little bit extra.
To create this whisky, Dark Valley sourced ‘new make’ from Killara Distillery in Tasmania that was distilled in February 2017, and then matured the spirit in a 20L Bourbon cask at their custom build facility in Malbina, Tasmania. Once the whisky was deemed ready, it was then bottled at a cask strength of 64.2% alc yielding 29 bottles.
