Ecto Gammat was the movie-defining line issued by Leeloo in the classic 1997 Sci-Fi movie ‘The Fifth Element’ starring Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich. It means “Never without my permission”. This is also true of whisky barrels; they are ready when they say so and never before. This peated release is a marriage (with the barrels’ permission) of port and apera single malt.

The nose is heavily influenced by the port casks, hints of raisins, dried fruits and tobacco are rounded off with a medium salty peat smoke in the finish.

Sorry I think I bought the last one….no I’m not….it was worth it. I loved every minute of this smokey Fleurieu. The peat is perfectly balanced with fine spirit, and in my opinion is the best peated Australian Whisky I have tasted. I was instantly transported sitting on a rock by the sea. Winter Wonder.
