Our tasting notes:
Nose: Crisp and herbal with notes of vanilla custard, spearmint tea and grass after the rain.
Palate: Earthy and sweet, leafy, lemon peel with elegant smoke almost subdued, beautifully restrained for a young whisky.
Finish: Medium with white pepper and spice, more herbal notes from the nosing, gentle peat.
Final Thoughts – A maritime delight that reminds us of a youthful Caol Ila.
Official tasting notes:
Vanilla and earthy dark sugar on the nose, palate is bright and spicy, showing characters of cinnamon and smoke. This whisky takes dilution well, with more of the peat profile coming out at lower ABV. Finish is very chewy and has great length.
