The Furneaux Distillery Co. ‘Sawyers Bay’, this unpeated single malt once rested on railway beams laid across an earthen floor.
Official tasting notes:
- Quite a bold dram which loves a bit of air and gives the drinker the ability to have a play with dilution as it takes a drop of water nicely. The nose starts off big and oaky with hints of warm coconut. The palate is immediately sweet, dried fruits up front with an aromatic almost black tea like back palate. The finish is earthy and oily, leaving you with just a hint of the quintessential Flinders earthy peat flavour.
