Description:
Heartwood is not motivated by market forces (commercial drivers) or deadlines either, letting the whisky do the talking when it’s ready to be bottled and released, no matter what the age. And ‘Great Expectations’ is yet another example of this ethos. The whisky is a flavour bomb, with lots of cask influence offering the sweetness of Pedro Ximenez sherry. It may not be for those of you who prefer spirit driven whiskies, but wholly hell, it’s a Heartwood! So good.
