“Oak barrels used to age our single malt whisky once decanted were transported to Communion Brewing Co. where they filled these whisky infused casks with their Doppelbock brew to age. On return to the distillery these casks now imbued with the malt forward complexity of the Ember Ale Doppelbock were once again filled with 2016 vintage single malt. The Doppelbock, a ruddy dark beauty, layered upon our single malt whisky the rich warmth of a late winter Bavarian Brauhaus – the dark marriage of single malt whisky and beer cask flavours, in perfect harmony”.
