Nose: A huge savory mustiness coupled with marzipan and roasted almonds intertwined with a hint of fleshy over ripe plums, a touch of pimento all spice and hints of Demerara sugar.
Taste: Roasted almonds up front with dried orange peel and currants soaked in brown sugar syrup across the mid palate finishing long with liquor laden stewed fruits and a touch of Chinese 5 five spice.
The beautiful tannin structure gives this dram an almost perfect balance of indistinguishable fruit to spice to sweetness.
