Our Tasting notes.
One of the most unique Aussie whiskies we’ve tasted in a long time!
The mix of 4 different oak interactions with tawny, red and rye barrels piqued our interest and paid off in spades – Reminded me of the progressive twist that defines Bruichladdich ethos. The fact that an Australian is bending convention and daring to think outside the box this early in his bottling and distilling career is pure Dan Woolley and damn refreshing. What a delight this whisky is…..
It balances 4 distinct oak barrels in pure harmony with an ABV that will dance on your tongue (without the need to add water) with a precision that will define the ‘Highwayman’ brand for many years to come. Think marzipan, juicy berries and sticky date pudding, all performing the perfect minuet with a conductor leading in white pepper and velvet, spicey goodness. The best of 4 worlds in the one bottle., Only 30 of these beauties were released – never to be seen again!
