After much anticipation, the Joadja Distillery has finally released their very first single malt whisky with bottle No.1 presented to Mr Jimmy Barnes at the Brigadoon Scottish festival in Bundanoon. This inaugural expression yielded 121 bottles and sold out within a week at the distillery and has “Collector’s Item” written all over it.
Joadja single malt whisky is handcrafted using 100% Australian barley and pristine water from the distilleries on site spring. It’s double distilled in copper pot stills and then laid to rest in Ex-Oloroso sherry barrels personally sourced by the distiller from the Bodegas of Andalucia, Southern Spain. You will see small particles which is flocking from lipids and fatty acids. This is non-chilled filtered whisky.
Joadja Town was a kerosene shale mining town in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales where hundreds of Scottish miners (with their families) worked the rich shale and coal seams. “The spirit lives on…!”

Such a great nose. Taste of sweet nectar. Very Fruity. Big fruit cake.
Smooth. No burn. Chocolate and raisin finish.
Excellent first expression.
Solly –
Amazing dram for such a young whisky. Lots of fruit, great on the nose. Dare I say it – but a bit like Lark classic.Note, I tasted 2nd batch. Congratulations!!
