This expression is a milestone bottling for Killara as their oldest release to date at 6 years and 6 months of age. The whisky was aged in a 100L Seppeltsfield tawny cask that was decanted in February 2024 yielding 129 bottles at a punchy 47% ABV.
About Killara Distillery
The distillery was established in 2016 by Kristy Lark-Booth and is located at 32 Ogilvie Lane Richmond, about 30min from Hobart in Tasmania. It’s the first distillery to be owned and operated by a second-generation distiller. The name Killara is a nod to Kristy’s parents, Bill & Lyn Lark who started the modern-day whisky industry in Australia back in 1992. Killara is the name of the street where Kristy grew up where the first distillery was registered over 150 years after the last distillery in Hobart closed its doors.
