Here’s a special release from Old Kempton who bottled their very last 100L Tokay barrel to celebrate World Whisky day 2019. It’s also the second release in their ‘Distillers Selection’ which is a range of whisky/barrels chosen by the head distiller for their exceptional quality and complexity.
Non-chill-filtered with no added colouring, the whisky is made using Tasmanian barley that’s double distilled through copper pot stills making for a real sherry treat.

3rd time is no accident. Every Kempton I’ve had has been amazing. I think I’m met my perfect match.
But this particular one has a gold sticker on it…it must be good….I thinks its just a sticker for the best gold sticker…but it doesn’t need such marketing bling. That’s beneath it. This is world class quality for the World Fair and you don’t need a sticker to tell you that.
At 46 ABV it still has the oomph factor. Big Drop. Love it. Smooth. I’m having trouble on how to describe it…this is something you compare other whisky to, and it’s a very high bar. Only innovation akin to the Fosbury Flop could surpass this level. Perhaps it does deserve the gold medal….umm..sticker…well it’s gold..and it’s good. Bling!
