Description:
If a whisky were to offer a nod of appreciation to the rich legacy of Riverbourne Distillery in New South Wales, then Enigma Australian Single Malt stands proudly as that tribute and historical cornerstone for founders Martin and Eileen Pye.
Since the first spirit flowed from Riverbourne’s copper stills, only two Enigma editions have emerged. Each marking a milestone in maturation, character, and flavour – culminating in the inaugural release being crowned “Drink Easy’s Best Whisky” in 2019 by Drink Easy.
Fast-forward to 2025, and the highly anticipated third Enigma release has arrived. French oak Napa Valley, ex-red wine casks were re-coopered for this release with new American oak heads applied with an internal hard scrape and heavy char. Add 20% ex-Oloroso vatting from a previous bottling (from the Initiative series), and the result is a rich, moreish flavour bomb.
