Here’s a cracking Rochfort whisky expression that was aged in a Maxwell Port cask with quite the pedigree. The cask is of the highest Australian pedigree, originally put down by Hardy’s in the 1960’s and then transferred to Maxwell’s in the 1980’s. This tawny port cask was fortified with brandy spirit and had some incredible vintages along the way including a fortified 2004 Grenache.

It’s unfortunate to see the Rochfort Distillery has fallen on hard times, having to close their doors (hopefully not forever). No matter the controversy, they bottled some stunning whisky expressions that are becoming very much sort after since the closure.
