The initial notes of deeply stewed fruits and rich toffee are a delight, chocolates, vanilla and oak surround roasted hazelnuts and caramel. Soft, rich, and sweet fruit spreads throughout the mouth as delicate spices deliver bursts of toffee and raisins. The finish is superb, juicy fruit and a gentle, lingering spice.

Description
This 19th release was matured in a vintage Port cask from Maxwell Wines that was first filled in 1967. This cask was hand selected for its richness of fruit character and seriously impressive history.
It’s everything Rochfort looked for in a cask to mature single malt, decades of quality fortified maturation. Presented in an elegant black tube, the bottle is adorned with a medallion style plaque and a pleasingly weighted, triple gold-plated closure.
It’s unfortunate to see the Rochfort Distillery has fallen on hard times, having to close their doors (hopefully not forever). No matter the controversy, they bottled some stunning whisky expressions that are becoming very much sort after since the closure.
