Description
Following on from Schofield Distillery’s standout inaugural bourbon cask release comes their Founders Reserve, a small batch Tasmanian single malt that’s pure temptation in a glass. This moreish dram carries a gentle wisp of peat, born from the marriage of three 20L bourbon casks, finished for 18 months in a rich 50L port cask.
The team at Schofield have chosen to mature their whisky predominantly in American oak ex-bourbon casks, believing these vessels impart elegant caramel and vanilla notes without being overly cask-driven. Their philosophy centres on letting the spirit shine, free from heavy wood or flavour dominance.
