Description:
Always one of the more limited Spring Bay offerings, Rheban releases are far and few between, barely lasting on the distillery’s website before they’re sold out to the masses. This whisky was laid to rest in French oak, ex-apera (sherry) and then bottled at a cask strength of 58% alc. As a small batch, cask strength expression – these Aussie gems rarely last long on our virtual shelves.
Located on Tasmania’s east coast, the whisky is tenderly leveraged by the flavour of the local sea salt at Spring Bay that softly infuses into their fresh rainwater allowing for a very subtle marine influence with beautiful, sweet undertones.
Quick fact – The name of Spring Bay’s Rheban line of whisky is derived from the majestic 1500-acre sheep station just south of the distillery that overlooks Maria Island and the untamed and seductive Rheban beach.
