Producer’s tasting notes.
Nose: Crème Brûlée, toffee, almonds, beeswax and slightly underripe banana, along with raspberry jam, watermelon, quince paste and stewed pear fill out a very broad fruity section. A lot of coconut and vanilla sponge and a gentle malted barley note with the sweet musk of an old book.
Palate: Dried apricots and custard tart bounce around the palate, and then the texture becomes apparent; astoundingly thick and smooth with lots of orange, passionfruit, glacé pineapple and nuts, Mum’s boiled chocolate cake, and above all: COCONUT.
Finish: The lovely texture lingers and fills the mouth with dried apples, raspberry jam, maple syrup and orange. Freshly baked bread, and, you guessed it: COCONUT. The finish is one of the most interesting of all time, with coconut and dried lime, as you would find in a Sri Lankan pickle condiment, perfectly balanced with the texture and sweetness
