Official tasting notes.
This carefully constructed whiskey is a real treat on the nose. It’s a full chewy, thick whiskey that is uplifting at the front of the palate with a nice thick creamy texture that fills the mouth and covers the middle palate with its lovely oils. It then explodes flavours through the back for a long finish that just keeps giving. The “pot still” spice and full creamy mouthfeel (indicative of that unmalted barley) are a lovely addition.

Description:
There’s a new whiskey in town which is the first ever release of a Tasmanian single pot still whiskey that meets the Irish technical file. In fact, it’s an Australian first-of-its-kind. Introducing Transportation whisky, a marriage of triple distilled bourbon cask whiskey finished in port and muscat casks with a mashbill of 60% malted barley, 10% oats and 30% unmalted barley – Delicious.
The whiskey was distilled in Tasmania and was an instant sell-out with a yield of 91 bottles. Bottled at cask strength, it’s non-chill-filtered, the whiskey is bottled in its natural state with no added colouring and we have the last remaining stock available for sale.
What is Single Pot Still Whiskey?
It’s an Irish style of whiskey. To be called single pot whiskey, it has to be made of 30% minimum malted barley, 30% minimum unmalted barley and a maximum 30% of other grains
