Description:
Rare and possible investment grade whiskey, this offering from Transportation in Tasmania is called ‘The Journey’. The whiskey spent its life quietly maturing in a 70-year-old Seppeltsfield port (single) cask, which imparted full bodied, decadent port flavours into the dram with a mouthfeel only worthy of triple pot distilled whiskey. The bottle also comes with a set of 4 samples displayed in a robust timber box adorned with the Transportation whiskeys logo and name.
John Halton, owner and distiller comments;
“It’s called The Journey because every 8 months I drew out a litre from the cask so you get 4 samples with the whisky. My new make spirit, 8 months in the cask, 16 months and 2 years samples to try next to the over three-year-old whiskey. The Journey will be a lot of fun because not only is the whiskey an amazing single pot still whiskey but it’s as if you got to visit the bond store every 8 months and try from the cask as it matured”
Released in Transportation Whiskey “ships decanter” this limited-edition expression only produced 65 bottles.
