Yack Creek have come a long way since their inaugural whisky that was released in December 2019 and since, sold out. They are now up to their 5th release and this particular expression is an absolute belter, it’s the big brother Cask-Strength version of the Batch 4 release that also utilises a small percentage of smoke malted grain, aged in ex red wine French Oak casks resized to 80L.
Double distilled and non-chill filtered, it’s created using the soft and pure water sourced from the Stanley Forest Hills.

Nose: Hints of figs, orange, dark cooking chocolate, hidden smoke, earthy wood notes with a hint of pepper.
Palate: Orange, caramel, dark cooking chocolate, smoke, anise, peanut brittle and pepper.
Finish: Subtle figs giving away to a nut flavour that lingers with hints of banana emerging.

Was definitely a great drop and do enjoy drinking on odd occasions. The French wine cask is always a winner and you will enjoy this one fore sure.
