Description
Here’s a rare Karuizawa expression from Batch #35 that is part of the ‘Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji’ series released from casks of 1999 and 2000 vintage whiskies. Each of the 36 labels in the series features landscape prints created by famed Japanese artist, Hokusai representing Mount Fuji illustrated from different locations in various weather conditions.

This 35th edition depicts the view of Mount Fuji from Ejiri in Suruga Province (Sunshū Ejiri).
Mount Fuji is shown without clouds while travellers along a meandering path on the Tōkaidō highway fight against the wind that’s ripping papers from a pack and hats from their heads. The trees sway, and leaves dance in the sky in direct contrast with the stillness of the mountain in the distance.
