Nikka Yoichi Moscatel Wood Finish is a one off, very rare bottling featuring the characteristics of the Nikka Hokkaido Yoichi Distillery. Released in late 2017, 1500 bottles were yielded with only 500 making it to retail (others were likely to end up in bars and clubs etc.) The whisky spent its last year of maturation in a Moscatel wood cask, before being bottled at 46%alc. Moscatel is a type of Portuguese fortified wine which is made using sweet, muscat grapes.
This expression represents an excellent opportunity to purchase a rare investment grade Japanese whisky that should appreciate nicely over time.
