Incredibly difficult to source in Australia, the Yamazaki Limited Edition 2014 is a reflection of the artistry of Suntory’s Master Blenders who have married together young and old single malt whiskies aged in oak barrels from different origins. Comprising of two 20-year-old single malts aged in sherry and port wine casks and a younger single malt aged in ex bourbon American white oak casks, the result is a whisky of incredible depth with the traditional Yamazaki fruity bouquet.
This collector’s edition also features imagery of Yamazaki’s pot stills with the kanji characters for Yamazaki in gold displayed on the super rare coffin box. Reserved only for the Japanese market.
NOSE. Sweet and floral with orchard fruits followed by hints of custard tart and vanilla.
PALATE. Similar to the nose but with a citrus zest followed by quick hints of spice.
FINISH. Moderate and clean with lingering spice and distant oak.
