Available in very limited quantities, the Yamazaki 2015 Limited Edition follows on from the 2014 inaugural bottling.Suntory Chief Master Blender Shinji Fukuyo has once again created whisky perfection by marrying together young and old single malt whiskies aged in oak barrels from different origins. Comprising of two 20-year-old single malts aged in sherry and port wine casks and a younger single malt aged in ex bourbon American white oak casks. The result is a whisky of exceptional complexity and flavour.
This collector’s edition was specially created with the distillery stills painted in the background on the bottle along with an ornate case displaying the golden name of Yamazaki in Japanese
NOSE. Similar to the 2014 edition, its fruity and floral like a grassy field in Spring but this time with a little more toffee and a hint of sherry.
PALATE. An alluring balance of tropical fruits and spice complimented by some distant oak.
FINISH. Sweet and light but with considerable depth. An ‘almost’ contradiction which reflects the age variations of whisky used in the blend.
