Japanese Release
Region: Osaka, Japan
Cask type: Sherry
Bottler: Suntory Yamazaki
Release Date: 2012
One year before the Yamazaki 2013 Sherry cask was awarded best whisky in the world, Yamazaki released their 2012 edition where the whisky was once again aged in Oloroso Sherry butts giving it it's trademark flavours of dark chocolate, raisins, orange-peel and spice.
Unavailable anywhere in Australia and rarely seen for sale abroad, it would stand tall in any Japanese whisky collection or for that super special occasion. Investment grade whisky that should appreciate nicely over time.
Jim Murray describes this edition: …“as rounded as a snooker ball. Perfection in a bottle”
