Official tasting notes:
Wholly matured in ex-rye casks, gunpowder, smoked banana and pear drift into vanilla and rye on the nose. A spicy mouthfeel hoists up and ignites a blunderbuss of fruity flavours. An armada of aniseed is tailed by smoked toffee and a distant hint of sourdough biscuits. The long finish lingers, with gentle smoke listing on the palate.

This special whisky was released to honour legendary Distillery Manager, Mickey Heads who retired from Ardbeg after 13 years at the helm. Mr Head comments: “……. Arrrrrrrdbeg is a particularly special dram. As it’s our first whisky matured in ex-rye casks, it means we’re able to get as close to the still as possible. So, it’s safe to say this is a ferociously good wee nip!”
